Judy Frazier

“I’ve struggled.  If it weren’t for the Lord, I don’t know where I would be!  God won’t give up on us.  Sometimes he’s in the background waiting for you to come back.”

Powerful words of encouragement from Judy Frazier.  A woman who has loved the Lord, and been in the church her whole life.  But there was a time when Judy came to realize she was aware of God’s love, but not really walking it and living it.  “I knew I wanted more.”  It’s a powerful awareness when a woman of faith comes to know and believe, “there’s a difference in head knowledge and heart knowledge.”  There was a time when Judy realized this, and she knew she was ready for it to be in her heart – a deeper place, a lasting place, a strength place.

Judy grew up in small Baptist churches through her younger years, but about four years ago, Judy was introduced to Shepherd’s Valley Cowboy Church.  There she found a way to lean into her faith.  “God has given me something to work with here.  I get to work with families, talk with them, get to know their needs.”

That life of service is also being lived out through her love for the Leap of Faith Resale.  After working at another non-profit for about five years, she was again reminded of her love of helping others, and she is excited about what Leap of Faith Resale is called to do!  “I love helping people, and this is a ministry to help people in need.”  Judy is involved in helping the other board members plan how they can reach others who have a need for household goods, food, counseling, and other basic needs.  She is looking forward to helping and encouraging clients at Leap of Faith Resale.  She knows people may be coming for help at a low point in their lives, and that’s okay.  She is ready to help them realize that God will never forsake us.  “All we have to do is look out.  He is working all the time.  Give Him a chance.  Walk by faith and not by sight.  We are not alone in our struggles.”

Judy’s current favorite scripture comes from the book of Romans.  “And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose.”  Romans 8:28. She knows that her purpose is to, “meet people where they are, be a witness to them, and love on people who need it.”  Thank you, Judy, for moving your faith from your head to your heart and leaning in to love people in need.  Most of all, Judy, thank you for being you!
